Bowie Urban Planners has an extensive history of providing planning services and impact analysis for properties affected by government condemnation.  The company has represented hundreds of private property owners and businesses and has also worked for condemning authorities such as the Florida Department of Transportation.  Specific projects include an acquisition cost estimate project in Broward County, FL involving a set of seven intersections covering an urbanized area of 28 miles. Bowie Urban Planners completed planning analysis for a major intersection improvement of the University/ US 301 intersection in Manatee and Sarasota Counties . Products have included comprehensive corridor overview input for appraisal data books and detailed parcel analysis.

The Firm provides urban planning analysis and litigation assistance for properties affected by eminent domain acquisition. Bowie Urban Planners conducts site-specific regulatory analysis, comprehensive planning and market evaluation to support land valuation and business damage claims. Bowie Urban Planners has conducted numerous market studies to assess the economic and market potentials of target properties for both private and governmental clients. Recent studies for the FDOT have included: evaluation of market strength for marina development in Brevard County; assessment of neighborhood shopping center site characteristics in Orange County; and evaluation of the complete commercial market in southern Broward County. Ms. Bowie has evaluated over seven hundred and fifty individual commercial, industrial, office and residential parcels in over fifty Florida cities and counties, for a variety of public and private clients, including Florida Power Corporation and the FDOT. Additionally, Ms. Bowie served as the urban planner on the FDOT trial team established for the acquisition of all real estate along Alligator Alley/I-75 in Collier County, involving a total of 1,100 parcels and requiring investigation of over 40 issues. Ms. Bowie was also retained by the FDOT to assist in the inception of District 7, specifically relating to U.S. 19 issues and cases. Ms. Bowie has qualified in several circuit courts in Florida as an expert witness in the fields of urban planning, environmental planning and land planning.
