Walkable Communities, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, established in the state of Florida in 1996. It was organized for the express purposes of helping whole communities, whether they are large cities or small towns, or parts of communities, i.e. neighborhoods, business districts, parks, school districts, subdivisions, specific roadway corridors, etc., become more walkable and pedestrian friendly.

Walk to School Day - USA
Whether your concern is safer and improved streets, healthier habits, or cleaner air, Walk to School Day events are aimed at bringing forth permanent change to encourage a more walkable America - one community at a time.

International Walk to School is more than just getting together with children and going for a walk to school one day a year. This is certainly important, but the event's greater aim is to bring forth permanent change in communities across the globe.

National Center for Bicycling and Walking
For 21 years, the National Center for Bicycling and Walking (founded as the Bicycle Federation of America) has been working for more bicycle-friendly and walkable communities. The NCBW offers information support, training, consultation services and resources to public agencies, non-governmental organizations and advocates, maintains the Internet Support Center and organizes the biennial Pro Bike/Pro Walk Conference and other special meetings.

National Safe Kids Campaign
Protecting kids from their number one killer -- unintentional injury.

The League of American Bicyclists promotes bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation and works through advocacy and education for a bicycle-friendly America.

Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute
A small, active, non-profit consumer-funded program acting as a clearinghouse and a technical resource for bicycle helmet information.

Go for Green - Active Transportation
Go for Green is a national non-profit, charitable organization encouraging Canadians to pursue healthy, outdoor physical activities while being good environmental citizens.

Transportation Safety Facts and Tips, video clips, an assortment of Safety brochures and pamphlets available for download.

Bikes Belong Coalition
Bikes Belong Coalition lobbies for bicycle friendly policy in Washington, D.C., promotes bicycling to the public, supports other groups pursuing similar goals, and distributes grants for bicycle facility projects. Bikes Belong Coalition works with political leaders and national advocacy groups to encourage development of additional projects and other ridership building initiatives.

Florida Bicycle Association
FBA is a not-for-profit organization uniting all types of cyclists, including cyclists who ride on-road, off-road and those who prefer shared-use paths or rail-trail riding. We also extend a welcome to Florida retailers, industry and the racing community. Our mission is to serve the interests of Florida’s cyclists, ALL cyclists, through education and advocacy. Our dream is to create a statewide bicycling community that bands together in common pursuit of a more bicycle-friendly Florida.
